'Tis
So Sweet offers the listener a broad range
of resonant sounds from the clarinet in the unique, soothing
and relaxing musical style of Paul Aaron. Paul recorded this
album to capture the sounds and styling he has developed
over the years that people have enjoyed in his live, spontaneous
performance and ministry. His range transcends the instrument
from the deep low notes of the clarinet to the throat tones
of the middle register and high above the staff in the jazzy
range that made the instrument famous. His technique is only
transcended by his rich, controlled tones and phrases.
Liner Notes
In Appreciation
Several years ago I felt a need to record
a clarinet album. My heart’s
desire was to be able to capture the awesome presence of God in my music
as He has anointed it. The Hymns and Worship songs of the Church are
predominant in this album in a sense to capture the heart of those who
have gone before us, people who have served the ord and His people their
entire lives. One in particular, W. A. Mercer, who was stooped over with
age told me one day as he walked gripping his cane, “If I just
had a few more years I’d preach if I had the chance.”
I was so touched by his passion for people and God that I would like
to dedicate a portion of the funds from this album to the Aged Ministers
Assistance. This fund helps those who have given their lives in ministry
and need financial assistance in their retirement years.
Scriptures
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In
all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs
3:5-6
Let
the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since, as one body you are
called to peace.
Colossians 3:15
Dedications/
In Honor
In memory of Thomas (Tommy) Williamson, Sr., my
teacher. He taught me to play clarinet and stood by me as a mentor and
support in my early years as a student musician.
In memory of Harry & Marie Miller, my
grandparents, who believed in me and helped me see the side of life
that contentment was a condition of the heart.
Grady Weizbrod, my college professor, who was a source of knowledge,
strength and passion for music.
My parents who raised me to trust in a Higher
Power … to live
for the Lord in spite of everything else.
My wife, Karla, who has stood beside me in
every facet of our lives together and encouraged me to pursue my calling
and ministry in music. I want to dedicate the medley “I Could Sin of Your Love Forever” and “How
Great Thou Art” to my sons, Brandon and Kolton.
I would like to thank each one who has shared in my life whether you
were a teacher, pastor, friend or co-worker in the ministry.
